Can the ear pads and other parts be replaced?

Yes, the ear pads can be easily replaced as they are fixed with double tape. The strap can be replaced as well. For the cable, you could use either unbalanced or balanced cables as a replacement. Monoprice offers only limited stock of replacement parts, but you can buy them from other brands as well.
